About
Keweenaw Nanoscience Center is led by Dr. Frank Underdown, a PhD AMO physicist with deep experience across electromagnetics, RF/microwave engineering, scientific computing, nanotechnology, and AI-enabled engineering workflows.
Frank’s work spans custom electromagnetic simulation, laser and optical instrumentation, high-power microwave/mm-wave systems, nuclear instrumentation, satellite sensing, medical and industrial imaging, and AI-assisted product concepts.
